Famtour: Praia Rica welcomes Discover Brasil in Jalapão

In June 2024, Praia Rica Expeditions had the honor of welcoming travel agent Tanja Meier , from Discover Brasil , based in Lisbon, Portugal, for an immersion into the fascinating Jalapão State Park. The technical visit was the result of our participation in the Lisbon Tourism Exchange (BTL) , with the support of Embratur and the Government of Tocantins, to strengthen the relationship between Brazil and the European market.

The famtour's program included activities such as rafting, hiking and trekking.

Famtour Objective

The main objective was to present, for the first time, Praia Rica Expeditions' exclusive four-day program, exploring the incredible landscapes and unique experiences we offer in the 4x4 expedition format. The intention was to strengthen partnerships and promote Brazil as a sustainable and charming destination to the European public.

Activities Performed

During the four-day expedition, Tanja experienced:

• Hiking and trekking , along trails, springs and over mountains.

• Rafting on the Soninho River , amidst the lush nature of the Sono River Canyons and Rapids Natural Monument

• Visits to the famous springs , beaches and traditional quilombola communities.

• Tasting of regional cuisine dishes

A night tour to watch the sunrise over Serra do Espírito was also part of the program.

Results

The travel agent's feedback was extremely positive: "It anything exceeded my expectation. Jalapão is a once in a lifetime place - different from if ever seen. I felt in ease, connected to nature and happy over all. I really felt that Pedro really knew and appreciated the place. His passion went a long way. You can see a place and learn about it but passion can't be tought. You have it or you don't."

As a result, we formed a partnership with Discover Brasil, which has already signed the contract and the program is being marketed.

From trails to floating, the proposal is for travelers to experience Jalapão from different points of view.
