A RPPN (Private Reserve of Natural Heritage) is a protected area voluntarily created by private landowners to conserve local biodiversity. These reserves are officially recognized by the government and have the same legal protection as public preservation areas, ensuring that vegetation and wildlife are preserved forever. In an RPPN, activities such as environmental education, scientific research, and sustainable ecotourism are allowed, but direct economic use, such as agriculture or resource exploitation, is prohibited.
